Jessica Huie MBE is Author of PURPOSE published by Hay House, Founder of JHPR and The annual Purpose Retreat, held in Jamaica.Jessica has enjoyed an accomplished career as a journalist and PR consultant/publicist, and has worked with some of the world’s biggest stars and business people, including Samuel L. Jackson, Simon Cowell, Kelly Rowland & Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle.Sixteen years ago Jessica launched Color Blind Cards, a multi-award winning multicultural greeting card company which drove an early conversation around the importance of ethnic representation in retail and became the first independent brand to secure a high-street presence for multicultural cards. The brand went on to secure distribution in the US and South Africa.In 2016, when Jessica’s father was diagnosed with terminal cancer, for the first time in her life she stopped doing and became present. Her first book, PURPOSE, and transformation evolved from the profound space between life and death in which she found herself as a carer for her beloved father.In Purpose, Jessica invites us to reconnect with who we are beneath the layers of roles, titles and belief systems. Our experiences and social conditioning determine the narratives we hold about ourselves and our lives, and in an era where so many of us define our identity by the title on our business card, Jessica promises that “stripped back is where we meet ourselves.”Following publication of her book PURPOSE, Jessica co-created the Diverse Wisdom initiative with Hay House to bring more authors of colour into the personal development publishing space globally. The initiative is now in its third successful year bringing black, Asian, mixed heritage and indigenous author’s stories and cultural wisdom on to book shelves globally.In 2022, partnered with black cinematic experience company We are Parable, Jessica launched An Evening of Purpose at the Barbican, a live event combining music, film, dance and conversation to galvanise authentic connection and positive mental health. The event takes place at the Barbican again September 30th this year.Passionate about challenging the ideologies we hold around success, Jessica has spoken on the topic of purpose for corporations ranging from Google, EY and Bloomberg, to charities including Save the Children and multiple public sector organisations.Jessica is highly skilled and experienced in creating value driven initiatives for brands, which enable them to amplify their impact in the world and generate publicity with purpose.In 2014 Jessica was honoured with an MBE for entrepreneurship and her contribution to diversity.www.JessicaHuie.com@Jessica_Huie_
