Our 501(c)3 memorial scholarship was formed in memory of Robert L. Smith Jr. "Bob" was a Navy veteran in WWII and the Korean conflict, active in the local VFW, and a Freemason. He was an HVAC technician by trade and a certified/licensed welder during his time in the Navy. He was very handy in many ways (including plumbing and electrical work, but not licensed in those areas) and was a great believer in any of the trades, however, welding was his passion. We raise money annually by hosting events such as spirit medium nights, comedy shows, and a History Mystery tour of Bridgewater in the fall. We give money to Bridgewater residents who are graduating from Bristol Plymouth (in Taunton, MA) that have chosen a trade for their future career path. They can use the money for tuition to a trade school or any needed tools. We also hold a breakfast and present a small stipend for our local high school seniors that are entering the military after graduation, another one of "Bob's" passions.
