Living with Endometriosis for over 20 years, I’ve faced hormonal challenges, pain, and fatigue. The onset of my peri-menopausal symptoms started a few years ago too (insomnia, brain fog, mood swings, unexplained anxiety, hormonal acne, and irregular periods among other sporadic symptoms). Despite being dismissed by Doctors, my personal research led me to understand that I was peri-menopausal. I sought the right support and now feel significantly better and more empowered. As a result I want to support others navigating peri/menopause and this is why I've organised a Menopause Cafe, in my home town of Abergavenny. I know how hard it can be but once you understand what's going on, you can seek personalised support and hopefully feel more optimistic about this phase of life. Every women’s journey with peri/menopause is unique and it really helps to talk to others who 'get it'I've also created a website called Mpowered Designs to offer a more positive perspective on the menopause transition. I aim to challenge taboos related to this life phase, as well as the negative narrative that currently exists around aging. To make the invisible more visible and promote solidarity amongst women.
