Lisa Rose Miller

Nudged by a fellow art classmate, she entered a scholarship competition and was awarded one at The Columbus College of Art & Design. While pursuing her BFA, with an emphasis in drawing and printmaking, she discovered a love of papermaking. Using garden scraps from her landscaping job, she created lovely fibers to make two and three dimensional works of art. Rolling forward, decades of homeschooling, teaching, and raising three children have not squelched her fascination to pulp and sculpt. She has developed a 'clay" recipe with recycled paper and named it her "secret sauce". Using this, she explores how to accentuate the beauty of fibers. Enjoying God's creative nature, and using gifts He's given, sparks her artistic pursuits in both learning and teaching. Discovering beauty, wonder and the reforming of "happy little accidents" with students she gleans from their ideas. This also fuels her desire to continue the journey of avidly pulping and sculpting - artfully making delicate paper and forms.
