LIVEwireis a brand-new poetry organisation formed at the beginning of 2024. We specialise inlive eventsandwriter development. LIVEwire evolved from an organisation calledNymphs & Thugs- an independent spoken word record label and events producer formed in 2015. We run regular nights in Leeds, Manchester, and Weston-super-Mare and workshop series in Huddersfield, Blackburn, Clevedon, and online.Based in Leeds but operating nationally, our core team includes poet and educatorMatt Abbott, cultural entrepreunerJack Simpson, and acclaimed poet and playwrightMaria Ferguson.
