The McMaster Institute for Research on Aging (MIRA) was established in 2016 to coordinate, facilitate and amplify research in aging across every faculty at McMaster University. Led by Dr. Parminder Raina (Canada Research Chair in Geroscience), MIRA provides the infrastructure necessary to support research, education and community outreach. It also acts as a robust entry point to many of McMaster's established research-focused platforms in aging, such as the Canadian Longitudinal Study on Aging (CLSA), a study of 50,000 Canadians as they age.
