Mother of Mankind

Mother of Mankind is a celebration of music from, and with roots in, Africa. What starting as a radio show during lockdown, with a focus on a different African country each show, has now expanded to live events. Its founder Tom created a bespoke handbuilt audiophile soundsystem, designed specifically to showcase the instruments of Africa. Now based in Frome, Mother of Mankind has founds its home in the 'Secret Basement' which resides in an historic mill building.
