Nate Parker has spent nearly two decades in the private security industry. He currently works as part of the executive protection team for an off Wall Street investment bank. Prior to his current position, he was the lead instructor for the firm’s security operations and responsible for designing and implementing all training related to firearms, tactics, and use of force. He has been a certified instructor for 14 years and still maintains instructor certifications from the National Rifle Associated Law Enforcement Division for handgun, shotgun, and patrol rifle. Nate has also completed the Rangemaster Handgun Instructor Development Course, and the Rangemaster Shotgun Instructor Development Course where he earned the top gun award. In addition to about 130 hours of instructor development training, Nate has several hundred hours of formal firearms training as a student under instructors from local law enforcement agencies. He has trained multiple private sector instructors, including names like Mike Seeklander and Chris Costa. Nate is a performance driven and technically adept shooter and carries that same style into his instructing. His passion is teaching, and passing on the knowledge and skill that he has acquired over the years. He maintains That Shotgun Blog and regularly contributes to other firearms related blogs in an effort to spread good information to the firearms community at large. Most of all, he is a student of the gun, and the learning never stops. He is constantly evolving both as a shooter and a teacher.
