About

The National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV) is a leading U.S. organization dedicated to creating a social, political, and economic environment where domestic violence no longer exists. Founded in 1990 as the Domestic Violence Coalition on Public Policy, NNEDV became a driving force behind the landmark Violence Against Women Act in 1994, and has since grown into a coalition representing 56 statewide and territorial member organizations .What NNEDV does:• Advocacy & Policy: Works directly with Congress, the White House, and federal agencies to prioritize domestic violence funding, strengthen laws, and address related issues like economic justice and gun safety.• Training & Support: Provides technical assistance, training, and resources to local coalitions and shelters—helping frontline organizations better serve survivors .• Specialized Programs: Manages initiatives like the Safety Net Project (focusing on technology abuse), Economic Justice Summit, and Women’s Law legal hotline .By amplifying survivors’ voices, shaping national discourse, and equipping local advocates, NNEDV plays a critical role in transforming how society responds to domestic abuse—and in working toward a world free from violence.
