On October 29 2015, Faduma Mohamed started a year long autism awareness challenge where she carried a box (which was a prop from her play 'OUGHTISM' developed in Watah Theatre) every single day to raise awareness about autism.Her hopes was that every time a stranger asked her about the box, she would have the chance to speak to them about her brother, Bilal, who is 20 years old and lives with autism. To mark the year anniversary, she started raising money for individuals and families of colour who live with autism. This fall, will be the third year anniversary of the commencement of her autism awareness project.All of the proceeds raised is donated to individuals/families of autism.#OughtTheBox is an autism awareness initiative dedicated to supported all individuals and families of autism. The fundraising efforts aim to assist individuals and families of colour of autism.
