Cardiff & the Vale Parents' Federation offer support to families who care for a relative with a learning disability. This includes running social events for unpaid carers to meet each other and enjoy mutual support over a free meal or activity! The Federation is run by parents, for parents, who understand the difficulties that families and lifelong carers face. In almost 30 years, we have collected over 2000 members from all corners of Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan.Bitesize Respite: We hold regular informal carers social gatherings where you can meet other unpaid carers, share experiences and ideas, and have a few hours of respite away from your caring responsibilities. Please note these sessions are for adults only.Bitesize Plus: In partnership with the Waterloo Foundation, we will be holding occasional gatherings for unpaid carers to attend along with the person they care for.We can signpost you to resources for support and information on your rights as a carer, and what assistance you are entitled to receive. We also regularly liaise with local councils and authorities to represent the voices and concerns of unpaid carers in whatever capacity we can.Our internet home is www.parentsfed.orgIf you can't find what you are looking for on our website, or on www.whereyoustand.org, call us on 029 2056 5917 or email us at admin@parentsfed.orgWe look forward to hearing from you!
