Penngrove Social Firemen was started in 1946 by volunteers of the Penngrove Fire Department, hence the name.While the Social Firemen no longer have strong ties to the fire department, they have grown with the community into an organization numbering almost 150 members. The primary focus of the Social Firemen is support of the community. The group is a non-profit 501 (c) (3). They own and maintain the Penngrove Community Park and the Penngrove Clubhouse, and donate generously to local groups such as Penngrove elementary School, 4-H, FFA, and more.Members include carpenters, contractors, artists, attorneys, mechanics, truckers, ranchers, and painters, among many other professions.The primary focus of the Social Firemen is support of the community.
