Royal Family Kids Camp Northeast Indiana

Royal Family Kids Camp is a summer camp and mentoring program designed for children ages 6-11 in our local foster care system. Our campers have experienced abuse, neglect, and abandonment, but for this one week we choose to focus on their hopeful futures rather than their hurtful pasts. At RFK we do alot of "typical" camp activities. We will hike, sing songs, canoe, play kickball, zip-line, and make smores. However; we are also very different from other "typical" camp programs. Our entire organization is made entirely of volunteers that sacrifice their vacation time, and time with their families to pour into our campers. Camp counselors at RFK are also only ever assigned two campers to spend the week with. This means that our campers get an unprecedented amount of quality time with a vetted, trained, trustworthy, loving adult. While we are not a therapy camp, and do not wish to become one, healing begins to happen for our campers in this safe, stable, one-of-a-kind environment. RFK is a national organization with hundreds of camp and mentoring programs throughout the country. The Northeast Indiana chapter is going into its 8th year of serving this incredibly special group of children.
