Shannon Dickie is an artist and Arts Educator with 15 years experience. Her experience with the Education Programs at the Art Gallery of Ontario shaped her arts education practice. Shannon then went on to run the Visual Arts program at an Elementary School in Downtown Toronto for almost a decade.As an artist, Shannon is an oil painter with a love of colour exploration. Shannon likes to share the experiences of memory and nostalgia with viewers. The soft blurred finish of her paintings allow the viewer to immerse themselves in the scene and recall their own memories. She continues to show her artwork at Art Interiors and Blue Crow Gallery in Toronto.Shannon has her Bachelors of Art from the University of Guelph with a major in Studio Art and a minor in Art History. After graduating, Shannon has maintained an active studio practice, including as a member of Flick the Switch Artist Collective. Since moving to Kingston, she has taught at the Kingston School of Art, Lakeside Studio Gallery, The Tett and has been a member of the Hive Artist Collective.
