Soorya Foundation for performing arts, a nonprofit organization in Los Angeles and Atlanta/Cumming GA was created to preserve, promote and protect Indian traditional performing arts through festivals, classes, productions, workshops, and master classes. Founded by Guru SUSHMA MOHAN - classical dancer, musician, choreographer and yoga practitioner GURU SUSHMA MOHAN.Soorya foundation was created to provide a paid platform for Bharathanatyam in the USA.This South Indian traditional dance is a highly specialized artform. Its music, technique, story, and presentation have seasoned over time to produce an excellent journey of the psyche into the realm of beauty and peace. The mind-body-soul interrelation of Indian classical dances requires a dancer to study this art arduously over several years and demands dedication, focus, and vigorous practice.
