I was born in the small town of Brunswick, GA. In my much earlier childhood, I was such a tomboy and loved to get dirty, but hey, you haven't played hard until you have gotten dirty. My mom, being a great cook, tried to teach me
but cooking was the last thing I wanted to spend my time doing. One day the tomboy became a woman, got married and had three children. You can only show up at your mother's for dinner with family in tow a couple of times a week, so cooking was no longer an option, therefore I learned to cook.In 2004, I asked my mom, "LaLa" as I called her all my life, to share her Sour Cream Pound Cake recipe with me. After much debate, pleading and begging she gave in and revealed her secret recipe. I mastered the recipe and began to use God-given ideas to make the recipe better and better. While seeking God for a way to provide for my three children, God gave me the idea through a close friend (April Nias the visionary) to start a business offering America's forgotten favorite dessert- the pound cake. "VERY reluctant, after months I gave in to the idea. At that point God began to use what my mom started and over the years, I shared them as gifts of love with my family and friends and it birthed into a new business. The Lord even gave me the name through a friendly conversation with my closest childhood friend, Cheryl LaCount.
