First as a church and now as a 501(c)3 — the Baldwin Center has been mission driven to “Feed, Clothe, Educate, Empower,” serving low-income and homeless people of Pontiac. We continue to build partnerships, engage volunteers, and offer supportive resources in the community. Our Family Soup Kitchen provides at least one meal six days a week; the Clothes Closet stocks gently used clothing and other basic items; and Youth Center programs support school-age children with tutoring, meals and snacks, a variety of enrichments, and fun. The Baldwin Center also shares its laundry facilities, distributes commodity food to low-income seniors, and operates an annual holiday gifts and food program. We continue to improve our existing programs that address basic needs; expand the use of volunteers to provide even more service to the local community; and collaborate with other agencies and organizations to coordinate resources. In2020, we will increase our focus on empowerment with vision for the future.
