The Exceptional Sidekick

The Exceptional Sidekick is a nonprofit organization that trains and places psychiatric service dogs with teens and young adults who have experienced trauma, including school shootings, sexual assault, and severe bullying. Our mission is to provide these young people with the support they need to heal, regain independence, and build meaningful connections. Through the partnership of a highly trained service dog, clients develop the confidence and emotional stability needed to re-engage with their communities, pursue their goals, and complete their education. We believe every young person deserves a chance to thrive, and no one should have to face recovery alone.
