The Greening of Detroit

The Greening of Detroit's mission is to provide sustainable growth of a healthy urban community through trees, greenspaces, education, training and job oppotunities.34 years ago, we responded to Detroit's need to restore its urban forest through tree plantings. As the needs of the city changed and grew, we continued to respond with increasing Detroit's green infrastructure, and creating a workforce training program for adult residents with barriers to employment. We believe there is tremendous opportunity to create and inspire a new green paradigm for Detroit.
