The Lethbridge & District Humane Society

The Lethbridge & District Humane Society (“the Society”) is a charitable, not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization, which was established in the 1970s. We provide care and shelter for approximately 250 cats and dogs year-round.We envision a world where all animals are treated humanely, with respect and compassion. We advocate for cats and dogs whose lives we can influence through care, protection, and leadership.Our main goal is to find the best possible homes for stray, abandoned, and previously owned cats and dogs in Lethbridge and surrounding areas. We pride ourselves in being a no-kill haven since inception and commit to continued public education.The Society does not receive regular government funding. Our yearly expenditures amount to approximately $300,000, climbing every year due to inflation. We rely on fundraisers like this to supplement our adoption and membership fees, personal and corporate donations, casino fundraisers, and occasional grants.
