As a lifelong maker, I‘ve had my hands in many crafts - from jewelry making to knitting (even knitted jewelry) and now sewing. I started sewing clothes for myself as both a creative outlet and form of self-care, and I never stopped. On any given day you can spot me wearing a mix of handmade garments, both knit and sewn. I feel an incredible sense of accomplishment and empowerment from making my own clothes, not to mention comfort and confidence in wearing them. I started my sewing workshops to share my love of making what I wear with others. I approach this endeavor as a coach/resource/cheerleader to support others who want to improve their sewing skills, surrounded by an encouraging and creative community. Hence, The Social Sewist - but you can call me Deborah.
