Trisha Rabalais is a designer, book artist, lettering artist, and self-described “curator of paper ephemera and other beautiful things” working in Thibodaux, Louisiana. After graduating with a Bachelor of Art degree from Nicholls State University in 2002 and a Masters of Fine Art degree with a concentration in Visual Communication from University of Houston in 2005, she worked for Times Infinity Branding Studio and interned at Sotheby’s in Houston before taking a position at Nicholls State University. Her work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally. Over the course of her 19 year tenure at Nicholls State University, Professor Trisha Rabalais is constantly creating innovative ways to integrate teaching, research, and service into all aspects of the courses she teaches and she incorporates high-impact activities that parallel the current state of the field. Her students are encouraged and guided to achieve excellence both inside and outside the classroom. To date, she and her students have worked with non-profit entities on over 55 design projects since 2006. In May of 2022, Trisha Rabalais was awarded the Ralph Simms Lifetime Achievement Award for Teaching Excellence in Design Education by the American Advertising Federation Baton Rouge Chapter.
