UPIASI

The University of Pennsylvania Institute for the Advanced Study of India (UPIASI) is a not-for-profit research organization that strives to build scholarship across disciplines on contemporary India. Since 1997, we have worked with the University of Pennsylvania to provide a platform for scholars worldwide to create meaningful partnerships for research on India's present-day developments and challenges.The Institute is spread over nine acres in the heart of New Delhi at the India Habitat Centre, the country's most comprehensive convention centre with 58 rooms, a business centre, six restaurants and several event venues.Ambassador SK Singh, the former Foreign Secretary of India, was the Founding Secretary General of UPIASI and Mr KeshubMahindra, Chairman, Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd., became the first President of the Governing Council. Dr E. Sridharan has been the Academic Director of the institution since its inception.
