Upper Hammonds Plains Community Land Trust

Upper Hammonds Plains Community Land Trust (UHPCLT) was formed in 2021 by the Upper Hammonds Plains Community Development Association, in response to growing community concerns related to strengthening, protecting, and preserving the historical sacred land of Upper Hammonds Plains (UHP). Our aim is to provide affordable housing and preserve its African Nova Scotian (ANS) culture and heritage through collective ownership, stewardship, and control of the land.
