VICSES Castlemaine

The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is Victoria’s control agency for road crash rescue, flood, storm, tsunami, earthquake, and landslide emergencies. As part of this role, VICSES coordinates the development of emergency plans at both state and regional levels, manages responses to these events, and supports community preparedness through effective planning and education.Each year, VICSES provides critical emergency assistance to thousands of Victorians. In 2023–24, our volunteers responded to more than 31,000 incidents across the state, contributing over 308,000 hours to helping communities in need. Volunteers are the heart of VICSES, with over 93% of our people giving their time and skills to serve the community—24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year, for more than 50 years.While our volunteers generously give their time, we rely heavily on the support of our community to fund the equipment, training, and resources needed to deliver these vital services. Every donation helps us stay ready to respond—when and where we’re needed most.
