We Belong Here NY is a leading advocate for safety and social justice for communities in New York.We Belong Here NY was founded in response to a rise of hate crimes and bias incidents in New York. 'We Belong Here' in its essence is a powerful affirmation of belonging by our founders who have been directly impacted by hate-based violence in New York. Our goal is to inspire New Yorkers to reclaim their power through various initiatives focusing on: civic engagement, leadership development, community organizing & public safety programs.We Belong Here NY provides a diversified range of culturally competent services focused on safety and self-sufficiency through direct services, education, advocacy and referrals.Deeply rooted in the Muslim and AANHPI community, We Belong Here NY believes that social change can be affected by raising awareness about the prevalence and effects of hate and gender-based violence, through education, interfaith bridge-building and offering safe spaces and opportunities for youth development, community healing and empowerment.With your help, we CAN create a safer and more just New York.
