YAS Safeguarding Team

The YAS Safeguarding team carries out statutory duties on behalf of the Trust. We also provide subject matter expertise around adult and child safeguarding, Prevent, and safeguarding allegations against staff, to ensure that all staff, students and volunteers are clear about their statutory roles and responsibilities.The team responds to the Trust’s requirement to report under the Children Act 1989 and 2004, and the Care Act 2014. This includes contributing to statutory Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews, Safeguarding Adult Reviews and Domestic Homicide Reviews.The team also manages day-to-day safeguarding enquiries both internally and externally, including Section 47 (children) and Section 42 (adult) enquiries.We work closely with our safeguarding partners within the integrated care boards, local authorities, the police and other NHS trusts.
