The American Institute of Architects Southern New York chapter was formed in 1979 under the jurisdiction of the American Institute of Architects and the auspices of the New York State American Institute of Architects. Our geographic region comprises the following counties of the southern Finger Lakes and western Catskill Mountains which are a part of the larger Southern Tier region of New York State: Steuben, Schuyler, Chemung, Tioga, Tompkins, southern Cortland, Chenango, Broome, Otsego, and Delaware
