They help individuals gain confidence and proficiency in navigating digital devices and online platforms.Access to Online Resources: Digital Navigators assist in accessing online resources for education, employment, healthcare, and government services. They help individuals navigate websites, fill out online forms, and connect with valuable resources.Internet Safety and Security: Digital Navigators educate individuals about internet safety practices, including how to protect personal information, recognize online scams, and stay safe while browsing the web.Navigating Government Services: Digital Navigators help individuals access and navigate government services and online portals. They assist with tasks such as applying for benefits, paying bills online, and accessing important documents and information.Support for Special Populations: Digital Navigators provide targeted support for special populations, including seniors, low-income families, immigrants, and individuals with disabilities. They tailor their assistance to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by each group.Digital Navigators can be cross-trained staff or dedicated new hires who offer guidance on connectivity, devices, and digital skills. Most Digital Navigators provide general support, and some offer specialized support for specific topics, such as healthcare, and for specific populations, including people with disabilities, returning citizens, higher education students, and caregivers to K-12 students.
